Shredding Days, Recycling Days, now joined on one weekend

For the convenience of Anderson Township residents who are ready for a spring home cleanout, Shredding Days and Recycling Days have now been merged into the same weekend in May.

Residents can shred sensitive documents for free during the event, which is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 10 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the Anderson Township Operations Center. The operations center is located adjacent to the Anderson Senior Center, 7954 Beechmont Ave. If you plan to bring papers to shred, please remove all paper clips, binders, and clip binders. The only thing that can be attached to the paper is a staple. Residents cannot wait and watch while their documents are being shredded.

The Recycling Days portion of the event is also hosted at the same site. Residents can recycle or dispose of unwanted items including old computers, wireless phones, motor oil and more. Check AndersonTownship.org for a list of items that will be accepted during Recycling Days. No commercial vehicles, please. Proof of Anderson residency required.
